| The Morgan State College (University) Women’s Collection (MSUW) contains the ephemera of the Ladies Auxiliary, the Dean of Women’s Office, the Morgan State College Women and the Morgan State University Women. The collection documents campus, social, and charitable activities and includes more than 30 issues of the Morgan State (College) University Women Newsletter. This large collection chronicles the social life, national and international travel experiences, mission-driven activities, events, recipes and other news of note. Brochures of Annual Women’s Week activities, the Women’s Dinner and Dinner Theatre, and various events sponsored by or featuring Morgan State College or University Woman officials are included. The history of the MSUW as it evolved over five decades is illustrated across several documents. The Morgan State College (and University) Dean of Women assumed a pivotal role in the smooth transition of female college students as co-eds into campus life. In the late 1950s, extensive protocol governing co-eds was presented in the “Welcome Kit.” Multiple invitations, reports, leadership statements and greetings are included in this collection, which spans from 1939 - 2019. |
