Digital Resources: Home

Morgan State provides access to two major New York Times websites. The first is the main news page: nytimes.com, which proves unlimited access to news articles as well as: 

• Archives (9/18/1851 through 12/31/2002) ( 5 PDF article downloads from Times Machine per day per user) 
•  Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality - found in the Mobile App; NYT stories told through enhanced technology
•  Podcasts (including The "Daily" podcast)
•  All Multimedia, including video, photography, VR features, and new multimedia to come.
•  Newsletters : Over 80 newsletters such as Well, Climate Forward, In Her Words, and more.
• Live Events - conversations with inspiring personalities like Tony Blair on How Russia’s War Will Change the World: A Virtual Event. Lin-Manuel Miranda and Shakespeare in the Park: A Times Summer Event,  Teaching 1619 Project: a virtual event for Educators and Librarians and Championing The Truth: a conversation between journalist and librarians on fighting misinformation, remaining balanced, and supporting communities. These are just a few of the great subscriber only events that faculty and students are enjoying through the resource.
• Up-to-date technology to make NYTimes.com Accessible with features such as closed caption and screen reader interface
• Spanish and Mandarin Chinese  translated versions of NYTimes.com.

To Access the New York Times website, go to accessnyt.com and register an account with your Morgan State campus email address. 

MSU students are also encouraged to take a look at NYT Internship and Fellowship programs, Including the new NYT Corps program focused on underrepresented student journalist development.  

In addition to the main NYT website, Morgan Students, Faculty and Staff enjoy access to educationally oriented content on nytimesineducation.com. This website is a separate system from the main NYT site, and so users must also register an account on NY Times In Education in order to access it. Just like with the main page, creating an account with an official Morgan email address will grant users full access.

 The New York Times InEducation site provides: 

• Over 1,000 resources published each year to ensure materials are relevant and up to date.
• Lesson plans
• News and geography quizzes 
• Student opinion questions
• Picture prompts and graph prompts 
• Current events conversations
• Writing curriculum 
• Contests
• Professional development webinars

Morgan State University Students, Staff, and Faculty are eligible for a free Enoch Pratt Digital Library Card, which will in turn grant full access to Kanopy Streaming services.  You can do so here: https://www.kanopy.com/en/prattlibrary/. Be sure to use your Morgan State email address when creating an account.

Microsoft Office 365 is made available to the community members for free. Visit the link below to sign up up with your Morgan State email address for access. 

Adobe Creative Cloud is available to all Morgan campus members free of charge. To enable:

1. Visit https://www.adobe.com/
2. Click "Sign In."
3. Click "Continue with Google"
4. Sign in with your Morgan username and password. 

Once signed in you should be able to download and access the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite.
