Why Remote Access?

If you want to do your research from off campus, remote access will allow you to read eBooks and search the library databases.

 

What is Remote Access?

Remote access allows you to find resoruces through the library's website while off-campus. Remote access makes it easy to do your research at any time of day or night without needing to come to the library.  Follow the steps below to longin off-campus.

 

 

 

 

Login Credentials

On the reverse of your BearCard is a 14 digit number with a letter A at both ends.  

Example: 

      A22058005099999A

The number inside the A's is your ID number.

The 15 digit number on the front of your BearCard allows you to link it to a bank account and use it as a credit/debit card only.

 

Step 3: Sign in with your barcode and last name

To use library resourcess off campus enter your login credentials throught the My Account link.  

The direct URL is : https://login.lib.umd.edu/idp/Authn/UserPassword

If you try to access certain library resources from off-campus, you will see a screen that asks for your school. Select "Morgan State University":

Then you'll see a page that asks for your library barcode and last name.  Type those and click "Log in."
