(BALC)

Soper Library is a member of the Baltimore Academic Libraries Consortium (BALC). Through a reciprocal borrowing agreement, Morgan students, faculty and staff may borrow materials from participating libraries. The policies and procedures for each library are described below:

Baltimore Hebrew College - Joseph Meyerhoff Library

ID Required:
Current MSU photo ID required
Borrowers need to re-register annually.
Loan Period:
2 - 3 weeks. Material must be renewed in person, providing there is no hold on item. Class reserve materials may not be borrowed.
Returns:
Directly to Meyerhoff Library.
Overdues:
Fines $ .20/day or $1.20/week

Goucher College - Julia Rogers Library

ID Required:
Current MSU photo ID required
Borrower registration must be initiated before 9:30 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays during the academic year; otherwise 30 minutes before the library closes.
Loan Period:
28 days. Material can be renewed once by phone or in person.
Returns:
Directly to Goucher Library.
Overdues:
Fines $ .10/day. Borrowing privileges are blocked until all materials are returned and all fines are paid in full.

Loyola/Notre Dame Library

ID Required:
Current MSU photo ID required
Loan Period:
3 weeks. No renewals. Limit of 5 items.
Returns:
Directly to Loyola/Notre Dame Library.
Overdues:
Fines $.10/day, $2.00/day for recalled material. Borrowers will be charged replacement costs plus $5 processing fee for lost/damaged materials.

Maryland Institute, College of Art - The Decker Library

ID Required:
Current MSU photo ID plus a "Borrower Validation Certificate" obtained from Soper Library's Circulation desk.
Loan Period:
Three weeks with a maximum of five books. Materials must be renewed in person.
Returns:
Directly to Decker Library.
Overdues
Fines $0.25 per day.

Towson University - Albert S. Cook Library

ID Required:
Current MSU photo ID required.
Loan Period:
28 days. Material must be renewed in person.
Returns:
Directly to Albert S. Cook Library.
Overdues:
Fines $.20/day. Borrowing privileges will be suspended if materials are not returned and/or fines are not paid.

University of Maryland Baltimore County

Villa Julie College Library

ID Required:
Current MSU photo ID required.
Loan Period:
28 days. Material must be renewed in person.
Returns:
Directly to Villa Julie College Library.
Overdues:
Fines $.20/day. Borrowing privileges will be suspended if materials are not returned and/or fines are not paid.

Please remember you are borrowing materials directly from these libraries. It is your responsibility to understand and observe the policies of the library owning the material. Fines and other charges will be payable to the library owning the material.
